My artwork 'Carefree' was featured in the famous Warner Bros- NBC series 'Blindspot'

Iam self taught artist , having enormous passion in creating contemporary artwork. I forget the whole world when I hold my paintbrush and palette. Its a amazing feeling to get a beautiful abstract artwork completed, it just cannot be expressed.I see objects as vibrant patterns, textures and palettes. I view life as a pleasurable experience that is to be enjoyed to its fullest.

Initially I never had a studio ,I have made use of all the space in my house to create my painting even a bedroom, kitchen and laundry room, as my work grew bigger and bigger we decided to move to a larger place and now have my own studio. My parents and husband are a great strength and support. I live in Pennsylvania, USA with my Husband and two little kids. I have earned a Bachelor degree in Engineering. I am from India, a country with rich colors and culture.

I always observe the colors and textures around me. When it rains I notice the abstract formation of water on the glass windows. I see the satellite pictures of the earth with depth and colors. Something very interesting and beautiful to eyes. Same way i try to mix up the colors from the palette and find a way to create beautiful abstract art , I don’t stop until I’m satisfied and happy.

I view life as a pleasurable experience that is to be enjoyed to its fullest. “I forget the whole world when I hold my paintbrush and palette. What is the earliest artwork you did that you can remember?
I had so much passion for creating Animal paintings. I started with a White Tiger, it was a challenge creating a natural animal Fur without having good brush and paint. I managed to paint it during my 11-month-old baby’s nap time. To everyone’s surprise it turned out so good. I started with the white tiger and continued painting forever.

Which classical or contemporary artists have inspired you?
I love many contemporary artists. I admire their work a lot. One of the most loved artists is “Jackson Pollock”. His paintings are incredible.

How would you describe your artistic style?
Contemporary Modern Paintings with different shades of beautiful colors. Pleasant to eyes. Created with palette knife and brush on canvas. Has variation of dark and light shades with textures and brush strokes. I try to keep the viewers mind fresh using soothing color combinations.

When did you first sell an artwork? How did you feel?
I sold my first painting to a buyer in Puerto Rico. It was totally exciting with the first sale. It is a yellow macaw painting with wings wide open and flying with some abstract blue textures in the bottom. Big canvas work which took a lot of time creating it. Miss the painting a lot.

What's your workstyle? Do you work on one piece at a time or work simultaneously on multiple pieces?
I work on one piece at a time. Sometimes I work on multiple pieces which I use the same palette.

How do you get the inspiration for a new piece?
I always observe the colors and textures around me. When it rains i notice the abstract formation of water on the glass windows. I see the satellite pictures of the earth with depth and colors. Something very interesting and beautiful to eyes. Same way I try to mix up the colors from the palette and find a way to create beautiful abstract art , I don’t stop until I’m satisfied and happy.

My lovely customers experience with my artwork- they all motivate me to create more and more paintings.

“My husband and I commissioned a painting for our lake house and sent a photo of what we wanted her to create. Preethi was wonderful to work with and we were more than happy with the way she captured the image. We would definitely recommend working with her.”

“You may think “why would I want a painting of a feather?” But that is not the right question to be asking yourself if you’re looking for a piece of art that will complete a room! ‘Melody’ is anything but a simple painting. The closer and longer you look at it, the more appreciation you’ll begin to feel for how much detail, intricacy, and personality that this painting holds. I just wish it came on an even larger canvas for the wall I put it on in my home!”
